Abstract The objectives of the work reported in this thesis are two-fold. an evaluation of the relative efficiency of two chelating agents; EDTA and EDDHA as a carrier for iron in typical alluvial and calcareous Egyptian soils. The comparison included the standard iron fertilizer of iron sulfate. second, an evalution of the interaction between both iron and zinc, supplied as Fe EDTA and Zn EDTA at progressively increasing concentrations and and added phsphorus fertilizer. plant response as measured by the morphological features, dry matter production, and nutrient uptake is assumed to be the ideal indicator for the chelate behaviour in the soils. |
