Abstract

This study included three groups i.e., laboratory , field and pot studies .
The obtained rwsults of laboratory studies are summarized as follows
A virus free (free efrom OVA , PVM , PVS, PVX, PVY and PLCV) plantlets of potato cv . Diamant were obtained by tissue culture technique and further used throughout this study .
In vitro , both micro – propagation and micro-tuberization were affected as modified MS medium supplemented with ascorbic acid (AA) , boric acid (BA) , manganese sulphate (MNSO4) , or salicylic acid (SA) Ascorbic acid improved most horticulture characters tested for potato plantlets growth or micro- tuberization followed by manganese sulphate However , MnSO4 increased number of roots better than AA. Acomplete growth inhibition to potato plantlets and micro-tuberization was obtained by adding boric acid (200ppm) to modified MS medium . Similar inhibition to potato micro-propagtion and micro-tuberization was occurred by adding 5 mM salicylic acid to modified MS medium
