Abstract This work was carried out for two years 1983 and 1984, onhead trained Roomy Red grapevines 12- years old at the starting of this experiment grown at Koom El-Zchir Minia Governorate at spacing of 2 meters. The research aimed to study the effect of the growth retardant 2-chloroethy1 trimethy1 chloride (Cycocel) applied at different concentrations and to different spraying dates as well as girdling on vegetative growth, yield attributes, berry physical and chemical properties of Roomy Red grapevines.
