Abstract
In the present study, callus cultures were intiated from two cultivated apple varieties namely Anna and Balady. The influence of medium type, explant tissues and genotypes on ability of the two apple varieties on callus formttion and on the dectrophoretic patterns of some isozyme as well as the level of polyphenol production in callus cultures was investigated. Callus cultures wetter maintained for two years i(n order to study the chromosomal stability, especially chromosme number at various intervals during the maintenance period.
