Abstract This investigation was carried out during 1987 and 1988 seasons on red roomy grapevines head trained 12 years old and grown in a vineyard situated at bani mazar district(minia governorate).the aim of this work was to study the effect of different nitrogen levels on some vegetative and fruiting characteristics of red roomy grapevines. The selected vines were pruned at the second week of January in the two experimental seasons to leave 72 buds per vine (12fruiting spurs x5 buds plus 6 replacement spurs x2buds). Six nitrogen rates namely :20,40,60,80,100 and 120 grams per vine were added in the from of ammonium nitrate (31.5%N). each nitrogen rate was divided in to three equal portions and applied at the beginning of vegetative growth first bloom stage and two weeks after fruit set. |
