Abstract The present study was carried out at the experimental farm of Faculty of Agriculture, El-Minia University during 1997/98 and 1998/99 growing seasons, to study the effect of weed control treatments and sowing dates on two varieties of wheat.(Beni-Suef 1 and Giza 164) A split split plot design with four replications was made in use. Sowing dates (15th Nov., 5th Dec., 25th Dec., and 16th Jan., in the first season and 19th Nov., 7th Dec., 26th Dec., and 17th Jan.in the second season) were assigned to the main plot, varieties (Beni Suef 1 and Giza 164) were assigned to the sub plots and weed control treatments (Granstar at rate of 8 g/fed. In 200 liters water, Grasp at rate of 1 liter/fed. In 200 liters water, hand weeding, hand hoeing and unweeded control)were assigned to the sub-sub plots |
