Abstract This investigation was to study the response of pea plants cv. (little marvel) and cucumber plants cv. (beta alpha) to different intervals of irrigation and fertilizer rates (N and K) to produce high economic yield with the least possible amount of water applied. Pea plants were irrigated at 15,30 and 45 days as intervals. Nitrogen as applied in the form of ammonium nitrate (33.5%N)at 3 rates 20,40 and 60kgN/fed.potassium was applied in the form of potassium sulphate (48%K2O) at3 rates 48,96 and 144 K2O/fed. Phosphorus was applied once before planting during soil preparation gust before irrigation in the form of super phosphate (15.5% P2O5) at consistent rate of kg for each experimental unit. N and K were applied at two equal doses; the first with leaching irrigation and the second after 30 days from leaching irrigation(for the first and second irrigation regime plots) or 45 days after leaching irrigation (for the third irrigation regime plots). |
