Abstract

The rock units ured and correlated with other parts of Sinai Suez and north Western Desert
Macro-fossils (echinoids and molluscs) were careflly
Cretaceous to Early Eocene. The Cretaceous rocks are classsified as Malha Formation (Albian), Raha Formation (Late
Cenomanian) Abu Qada Formation (Late Cenomanian - Early
Turonian ), Wata Formation (Turonian),Matulla Formation
Meastrichtian and Danian). The Upper Paleocene sediments are repreesented by the main part of the Esna Forma~ion whereas the Lower Eocene is represented by the top part of the Esna Formation as well as the Thebes Formation . These formations were mapped

Upper Creaceous rocks of Gebel Musaba Salama and Wadi Matulla area were recognised. They include six echinoids, three ammonites, three gastropods,.and eighteen bivalves.
