Summary & Conclusion
The study was performed during the period from September 2005 to January 2007. All the patients were referred from Orthopedic surgery, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Departments to Radiology Departments .of Zagazig University Hospitals. The study group included 30 patients with painful ankle; they were 18 males and 12 females. Their age ranged from ?O to 60 years with mean age of 40 years.
In this series the lesion was unilateral in 25 cases and bilateral in 5 cases. The right side was involved in 20 patients and the left sided in 10 patients,
All patients were complaining from pain in the ankle, limitation of movement in 2] cases, inability of weight bearing and swelling each in 18 cases.
The final diagnosis of our patients was traumatic lesions in 12 cases, int1ammatory lesions in ] 3 cases and degenerative lesions in 5 cases.
