Abstract This thesis deals with synthesis of fused heterocycles via Multi-component condensation. where novel chlorochromene derivatives were prepared in one-pot reaction using 4-chlororesorcinol with appropriate aldehydes or ketones as well as either malononitrile or ethylcyanoacetate through ternary condensation reaction. The same product produced by reacting arylidenemalononitrile or ethylarylidenecyanoacetate with 4•chlororesorcinol using ethanol as a solvent in presence of piperidine as a catalyst, As shown in [schemel], benzaldehyde or its derivatives condensed with either malononitrile or ethylcyanoacetate in addition to 4-chlororesorcinol in EtOH/piperidine to give 2-amino-6-chloro-4-aryl-7-hydroxy-4[H]-chromene-3-carbonitrile Sa-no The same product obtained by heating arylidenemalononitrile or ethylarylidenecyanoacetate with 4-chlororesorcinol using the same reaction conditions. |
