Abstract Two field experiments were set up during 1991 and 1992 growing seasons, to study the effect of sowing dates i.e. May 1, May 15, June 1 and June 15, and phosphorus fertilizer rates viz., 15, 30 and 45 kg/fed. in addition to cutting heights (20 cm 40 cm above the soils surface) on pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan L.R.G. 30-P variety). Samples were taken after every cut for determining forage yield characteristics, different growth traits and chemical composition of leaves and stems. Also, seed yield and its components as well as chemical composition of seeds. |
