Abstract The present thesis represents the most recent and comprehensive study so far made on the chemistry of Lake Manzalah. It entails 1- results on the physiochemical environment of the lake i.e. temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, alkalinity, transparency and suspended mater. 2- nutrient salts i.e. phosphate, nitrate, ammonia and silicate. 3- major ions i.e. sodium, magnesium, calcium, potassium, bicarbonate, carbonate and sulphate. 4- trace elements i.e. Al, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn, pb, Ni, Cd, and Co in water and surficial sediments. |
