Abstract Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma(PPAR-y) is a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily of ligand dependent transcription factor. the role of PPAR-y inflammatory and autoimmune disease has been documented. the aim of this study is to investigate the possible therapeutic role of different PPAR-yagonists such as rosiglitazone, telmisartan, and indomethacin on the pathogenesis of autoimmune diabetes mellitus as well as the molecular mechanisms through which PPAR-y ligands could produce their beneficial effects. the effect of PPAR-y agonists on diabetes associated decline in the innate and acquired immunity were also investigatrd. |
