Abstract The role of histamine, serotonin and catecholainines in SO experimental pathological conditions was investigated , using the rat. The experimental pathological conditions in— 1vestigatedere : in±’lanniation induced by cotton pellets implantation, insulin h,ypoglycemia and alloxan diabetes, castration and ovriectomy, and carbon tetrachioride hepatotoxicity. The following results have been observed : 1.- Glandular stomach histidine decarboxylasa activity 1was markedly increased by insulin hypoglycemia. The maximal fect of insu].:.n on this enzyme was observed between 4 and 6 after insulin administration. On the other band, aJioxan diabetes decreased the activity of the enzyme • Inflammation Ld by cotton pellets implantation in the groins and. azcillae, d carbon tetrachioride hepatotoxicity, caused an increase in activity of the histidine decarboxylase. 2- Intestinal histamiriase (Diamine oxidase) was markedly ncreased in inflammation, not markedly changed in insulin og1ycemia, alloxan diabetes, carbon tetracbloride hepato— oity and ovariectomy, but markedly decreased by castration. 3- Urinary free histamine output was not changed in ion but significantly decreased in alloxan diabetes. |
