Abstract Since the Revolution, the government devoted a considerable attention to land reclamation in the from of horizontal to crop with the over-increasing population. Most of the reclaimed lands are desert soils and salt-affected soil having different properties which are further changed after reclamation practices. To follow these changes, and evaluate the soil characteristics after reclamation, it was found essential to Carry out a pedological study of some newly reclaimd lands. In this respect, the reclaimed soils at El-Fayoum , Ferhash , North and south tahrir and Idku were given due consideration. It is hoped that the present study will contribute to a better understanding of the nature of soils in the newly reclaimed lands. |
