Abstract

The result of the grain size analysis indicate that the modern nile sediments are unimodal, fine to coarse sands the neonile sediments are unimodal, medium to very coarse sands Afew samples are bimodal sandy gravels, which represent the wadi deposits among the neonile sections the abbassia gravels occurring at elbahnasa are bimodal sandy gravels. the prenile sediments are unimodal coase to very coarse sands the wadi deposits among these sediments are also bimodal sandy gravels the upper subsurface neonile unit is generally unimodal medium to very coarse sands the lower subsurface per-neonile unit is generally unimodal sandy gravels this may be due to the fact that the subsurface samples provided are actually ditch samples because of the drilling operation.
