Abstract
Recent trends in I’harmacognosy researches are focused owada.y on the chemistry and biocheznitry of medicinal plants. Following the same channel, this work Was 4irected towards the search for new, accurate, simple and reliable methods of ass&y of certain drugs.
Balsam of olu, Benzoin and Ipecacuanha were the three drugs of choice in the present study. These were subjected to full analytical study, aiming to develope assay—procedures that may be advantageous to pharmacopoetal or literature procedures. The developed assay procedures were then to be matched. with currently adopted procedures.

tute the body of this thesis.
