Abstract The present investigation was carried out at side agricultural research station bein-suef governorate, Egypt during 1996 and 1997 seasons, to study the response of corn Plants to irrigation and fertilization with nitrogen and potassium, on: water requirements, yield, its components and chemical analysis of maize plant, c.v. giza 2. this investigation was designed as experiment I and experiment II. The first experiment carried out to investigate the response of corn plants to irrigation and fertilization. A split-plot design with four replications was used, irrigation treatments (irrigation at 40,60 and 80% available soil moisture depletion) were arranged in the main plots and nitrogen fertilizer treatments (30,60,90,120and 150 Kg N/fed)were allocated in the sub-plots. The second experiment designed to study the response of corn plant irrigation and potassium fertilization. A-split-plot design with four replications was used, irrigation treatments (irrigation at 40,60 and 80% available soil moisture depletion) were arranged in the main plots and nitrogen fertilizer treatments(0.0,15,30,45,and 60 Kg K2O /fed) were allocated in the sub-plots. |
