Abstract

In this study, two experiments were carried out to investigate:
a. The effect of feeding rabbits two levels of dietary protein (12 or 18 % ) and three levels of fibre (14, 18 and 22 % ), on growth performance of growing Bouscat rabbits and digestibility coefficients. The feeding value of these diets were measured.
b. Replacing different proportions of the control diet (the best diet noticed from part a, 0.5, 10, 15 and 20 %) with equivalent amount of broiler litter. Its effect on the growth performance of growing Bouscat rabbits was investigated.
The digestibility coefficients and the feeding value of these diets were discussed. The carcass characteristics of rabbits fed the basal diet or the 20 % litter diet for 13 or 18 weeks were examined.
