Abstract Aim of the Work: Information Concerning effect of temperature and humidity on biological aspects of the carpet beetle , attagenus fasciatus, is shortage; therefore , the aim of the present study is to establish an important knowledge about the role played by these conditions on the biology of such important pest ; consequently , the current study includes: 1-duration and survival of each larval instars. 2- duration of the pupal stage. 3- Female Fecundity. 4-Egg hatchability and incubation period. 5- Female reproductive periods. 6-Longevity of feed and starved adult females and males Result: 1-At 30 c , the range of the number of larval instars decrease with increasing the relative humidity , recording 9 to 19.9 to 16 and 9 to 13 at 40.60 and 80 % r.h, respectively. 2- at 35 c , the range was 12 to 17.7 to 15 and 6 to 9 at 40 , 60 and 80 r.h, respectively. 3-Nearly the duration of each larval instars increased gradually with the next ones then it fluctuated at the various instars . Highest mortality occurred at the first instars. |
