Abstract The work in this investigation includes two cain parts: 1- ColoririDtric Dctorination of cetaiinophen in compound Tablets and suppositories: 2cetaminophen was hydrolysed with hydrochloric acid and the reaction of p.a:inophono1. so formed • with potassium bromate produced a violet co] having an absorbanco peak at )+95 nm. The colour (was stable and adhered Beers - Lambart lw in a concentration range of 2.16 mg of actaminophen /50 ml In distineitly alkaline medium, the same rection produced a wino - red colour having an absorbance pak at +3O nn. Both reactions wre put on a quantitative basis to &terraine acetaiinophen in pure state as well as in compound tablets and suppositories . The presence of acetylsalicylic acid, saliculamido , C’ffc...inc, phonobarbital or codeine phosphate did not interfere with the deter.:ination, r |
