Abstract
The use of modifiers to improve the performance of asphalt / aggregate mixtures has been employed in highway industry from almost the first use of hot mix asphalt . modifiers take many different forms . many modifiers change the properties of the asphalt binder . these modifiers change the properties of the asphalt binder. These modifiers include polymer , latex and many chemical additives . there are many modifiers that change the properties of mixture and establishing construction quality control procedures for these modifiers can be extremely interesting .
In the present research attention has been paid to study the influence of recycled plastic materials on both alex . 60 70 AC and Alex 80/100 asphalt cements at AD/AC =1,2,5,7,9,11 and 13% experimental studies in the first stage of this work are carried out to determine the important characteristics of the modified asphalt by using three kinds of recycled plastic additives , the variation of these characteristics with wide variety of ratios of the applied additives .
