Abstract Aim of the work To detect the incidence of squint or strabismus among the school age pupils in Minia city to know the prevalence of this ophthalmological disorders. Summary and conclusion 1- 60 pupils were found to have different types of squint. 2- 24 patients from the 60 have A. C. convergent squint. 3- 12 patients from the 60 have A. C. divergent squint. 4- 1 patient has Lt. C. convergent squint. 5- 11 patients have Lt. C. divergent squint. 6- 3 patients have Rt. C. divergent squint. 7- 1 patient has latent convergent squint. 8- 7 patients have latent divergent squint. 9- 1 patient has Rt. C. latent divergent squint. From the results and discussion of this thesis it is found that: 1- Concomitant strabismus is the most common type of strabismus. 2- No incomitant cases of strabismus were found. 3- A. C. convergent squint is the most common type among the concomitant strabismus. 4- Unilateral concomitant divergent squint is nearly as frequent as A. C. convergent squint. 5- Latent divergent squint is more frequent than latent convergent squint. 6- Latent squint whether unilateral or bilateral is the last common. |
