Abstract
Aim of the work
To determine whether sensitivity in the visual field is reduced in diabetic patients with little or no retinopathy, as well as whether there is an association between visual filed and the insulin dependency of the diabetic patient.
Conclusion
1- The visual field defects in diabetic patients are more frequent in NIDDM especially if there is retinopathy.
2- The visual field defects are often manifesting in diabetic patients before the development of advanced retinopathy. It is also are more distinct after the development of retinopathy.
3- The risk of the visual field detect in diabetic patients increase with the duration of the disease.
4- The severity of visual field loss is more in NIDDM especially in presence of retinopathy.
