المستخلص A cute renal colic is one of the most severe types of pain known to human. paravertebral block in the lumber region was used to treat renal colic but it is hazardous and needs experience and has many contraindications. subcutaneous infilteration analgesisa is a new technique easy to perform and effective in management for many types of pain-sample size consists of 32 patients with acute renal colic presented to the patient clinic or the emergency room was divided into 2 groups 16 patients each. first group received lumber subcutaneous infilteration analgesia using 6 ml of 0.9 % normal saline , and second group received 6 ml lidocaine 2% as lumer subcutaneous paraverteral block. results show that subcutaneous infilteration analgesia was effective for short term treatment of renal colic and has the same duration of action as lumber paravertebral block , easy to perform with no known side effects. |
