Abstract It has been well documented that thiazoles, fused thiazoles as well as thiazoles linked to other heterocyclic rings possess a broad spectrum of biological activities, especially antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and anticancer activities. On these bases, various series of compounds were synthesized in this thesis (85 new compounds), having a thiazole moiety, to be screened for their antimicrobial, anti-Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HP?) , and anticancer activities. The Thesis comprises the following main parts. INTRODUCTION: This chapter covers a survey of biologically active thiazoles in the field of antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiparazitic and anticancer agents concentrating on the recent researches, and referring to the structure activity relationship whenever possible. it includes the following subdivisions: I- 4-Thiazolidinone derivatives: (1) a- 2-aryl-4-thiazolidinones. b- 2(or 3)-heteryl-4-thiazolidinones. (2) 2-Thioxo-4-thiazolidinones. (3) Thiazolidine-2,4-diones. (4) 2-[rnino-4-thiazolidinones. II- Compounds containing two thiazole moieties. III- Thiazolyl benziinidazole derivatives. IV- Thiazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidine derivatives. |
