Abstract The aim of this work is to study the possible changes in plasma fibronectin levels in the early bilharziasis, cholestasis and veno-occlusive disease. The results of this study revealed that: 1- The liver function in cholestasis and control group showed an increased significant difference. 2- The plasma fibronectin showed significant increase in cholestasis when compared to normal control. 3- The liver function tests showed no significant difference between the early bilharziasis and the control group. 4- The plasma fibronectin showed significant increase in early bilharziasis group as compared to the normal control group. 5- The liver function tests in ven-occlusive disease and control group showed significant increase. 6- The plasma fibronectin level in veno-occlusive disease and control group showed significant increase. 7- Correlation between plasma fibronectin and liver function tests in cholestasis showed positive correlation with total bilirubin and negative correlation with alkaline phosphate. 8- Correlation between plasma fibronectin and liver function tests in bilharziasis group showed positive correlation with serum GOT, GPT and alkaline phosphates and negative correlation with total bilirubin. 9- Correlation between plasma fibronectin and liver function tests in veno-occlusive disease showed negative correlation with serum GPT and alkaline phosphates. |
