Abstract

A severe earthquake is one of the most frightening and destructive phenomena of nature , its terrible aftereffects threaten the civilization and the human race . earthquakes are not likely to occur in a cretin place or time , every where on the earth is exposed to be shaken by earthquake with different magnitudes and depth , the destructive earthquake happen in belts across the earth where the smaller events take place either within or surrounding these belts when an events take place , the seismic waves produced from this shock are recorded by the seismic transducer “ the seismometer “ which in turn delivers these recorded signals to the transmitter to be sent to the main center . at these centers the analysts pick the first arrival of the event for each recorded trace “ picking “ the using the analysis program , the analyses can determine the location , the depth the magnitude and the origin time of this event.
