Abstract This thesis includes a pharmacognostical study and phytochemical investigation 01 two plants growing in Egypt and belonging to family Compositae (tribe Ciohorieae) The two plants are Urospern!um picroides (L.) The stem ; .xect, green, rough pubescent, monopdia1ly branched. i— iicrooopical characters of the leaf and stem ; The leaf : Dorsiventral with 2 layers 01 palisade abutting on the upper epidermis..
