Abstract

The aim of the study to evaluate the prevalence of growth of the anaerobic bacteria in women using T CU 380 after its application.
Conclusion:
The T Cu 380 device id one of the most effective, safe and commonly used copper devices all over the world.
These copper devices have many different mechanisms in preventing pregnancy.
Most studies were performed to determine the relation of intrauterine contraceptive devices mainly the copper devices use to the occurrence of pelvic inflammatory disease.
Most of these studies revealed that the prevalence of occurrence of pelvic inflammatory disease associated with the use of copper devices are the least and almost that prevalence shows obvious decline after the first month of loop application and afterwards.
Also, these studies reported that the anaerobic microfloras are less causative agents for the device associated pelvic inflammatory disease.
In this study, we reported that growth of the anaerobic microflora of the endocervix and posterior vaginal fornix after three months of T Cu 380 insertion were the same in nature and percentage for certain microflora and showed obvious decline in percentage for some other mocroflora than before loop application and this may due to the antimicrobial effect of copper icons.
Also, we reported that intrauterine devices in general lead to increase in the amount and the duration of menstrual flow and also the cycles are almost shorter than before loop use.
