Abstract The aim of this work is to study the effect of nitric oxide donors on the management of pre-eclampsia remote from term as regards the blood pressure, Doppler flow velocimetry and fetal well-being. Conclusion: The use of nitric oxide donors provides a good chance for prolongation of pregnancy and improvement of pregnancy outcome in patients with pre-eclampsia remote from term in terms of decreasing the associated endothelial cell injury and improvement of fetal blood supply. Recommendation: 1- Using the NO donor patches in patients with pre-eclampsia for avoiding the problems of pre-maturity and improvement of the condition as regards the endothelial cell injury and fetal well being providing better chance for prolongation of pregnancy duration. 2- Further studies are needed to evaluate the use of NO donor patches prophylactically for the prevention of occurrence of complications associating pre-eclampsia in high risk patients subjected to it and to evaluate its effect on different other parameters of neonatal well being. |
