Abstract
The present work is carried out to assess the possible pathologic signification of TSP-1 in breast carcinoma, to correlate its expression with the different clinicopathological parameters and with other available prognostic factors. The material of the present retrospective study included blocks of 50 cases of breast carcinoma obtained from the archive of the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University. The retrospective follow up for the cases was done for a mean period of two to four years from the Clinical Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Department files, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University. Histopathological examination of the cases was done, followed by immune staining for the detection of the expression of TSP-1 and Her2/neu and ER and PR immune stain results were taken from the available data of the previously done staining. Then, statistical analysis was performed to determine: the frequencies of the variables, Statistical correlations using spearman’s correlation coefficient, survival analysis using log rank test and multivariate analysis for the result .
