Abstract Schistosomiasis is a major health problem in our country. This work is considered with the detection of specific CICs in S. haematobium infected children in a trial to evaluate their potential use diagnosis of the disease and in assessment of the disease morbidity. - Elisa is a highly sensitive test in detecting level. The monoclonal antibodies are highly sensitive as a tool for detection of CICs. – presence of specific CICs indicates an active infection with schistosomiasis and could be used as a discriminator tool between active and past infection. – specific CICs seem to reflect the intensty of infection and hence morbidity status of the disease. |
