Abstract
In this work different methods were developed and validated for assay of the four studied statins. the first part described oxidation based indirect spectrophotometric methods using three colored and strong oxidants ( ceric ammonium sulfate, potassium dichromate and potassium permanganate ) and were suitable for determination of the four drugs in their pure form and for assay of (I), (II), and (IV) in yheir dosage forms as well. the methods were economic and sufficiently senstive, accurate and precise. the recoveries ranged from 98.8-100.3 and 98.4-100.8 for assay of pure form and dosage forms, respectively.
