Abstract The purpose of our study is to evaluate the protective effect of DDB therapy supplemented with vitamin C, vitamin E and or Se or their collective combination in arbon tetrachloride intoxicated rats. This can be done by monitoring liver functions including plasma ALT, AST, alkaline phosphatase activties, total bilirubin and albumin levels, also by separation of LDH isoenzymes in liver by electrophoresis. The Result of our study also revealed that level of hepatic LDH in CCl4-intoxicated rat group is significantly higher than that of normal controls, after DDB treatment with vitamins or Se or alone a significant improvement was noticed. Our results of LDH isoenzymes liver tissue electrophoresis in CCl4-intoxicated group showed an elevation of isoenzymes LDH4 and LDH3 with the diappearence of isoenzyme LDH2, after treatment with vitamins or not these isoenzymes were improved, but still isoenzyme number LDH2 missing. |
