Abstract Aim of the work To define the relation of activated protein C resistance (APC-R) to repeated miscarriage. Conclusion 1- The presence of Toxoplasma IgG antibodies is a common laboratory finding among our referral population; it is most probably a cause of repeated miscarriage especially, in relation to abortion of first trimester and at high dilution. 2- from this study we can be concluded that APC-R which predispose to thrombosis is a cause of recurrent miscarriage but the statistical power of the study is too low to detect the size of the problem and large prospective studies is needed to confirm these finding in the future, also the determination of APC-R must be include both coagulation based function assay and DNA based genetic assay as the information provided the each method is complementary. 3- These findings have important implications for therapy and provide a rationale for clinical trials of thromboprophylaxis for affected women with recurrent fetal loss in subsequent pregnancies. |
