Abstract

The aim of this work was to detect the levels of serum IgA RF, serum IgM RF and anti-CCP2 in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and to explore their relation to disease activity and functional performance. This study was carried out on 40 patients with early onset rheumatoid arthritis (3months to 2 years). There were 2 men ( with a mean age of 40 2.828) and 38 women ( with a mean age of 38.71 ± 5.367). The patients’ age was between 25-45 years and they were under methotrexate treatment for a period of 3 months to 2 years All patients underwent complete history taking, general and complete< rheumatological examination. Also laboratory investigation was done which included ( CBC, ESR, CRP, serum uric acid, IgA RF, IgM RF and anti-< CCP2). In addition, disease activity evaluation was done using the disease activity score (DAS). Functional performance evaluation was done using the Standford Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ The result of this study revealed the following There was no significant correlation between the age of studied patients and either disease duration, duration of morning stiffness, HAQ scores, DAS, pain scores, ESR levels, IgA RF levels, IgM RF levels and anti-CCP2 levels There was a significant correlation between DAS and either disease duration, duration of morning stiffness or HAQ scores.
