Abstract
Staphylococcus aureus causes severe suppurative infection so its isolation from infectious lesions is necessary but it may be missed when clinical sample is mixed with flora or when its colony is masked by swarming proteus or pseudomonas colonies.Staphylococcus aureus can grown on chromogenic medium such as CHROM agar Staphylococcus aureus (CSAM) (CHROM agar microbiology, Pari, France) are pink colored colonies of Staphylococcus aureus unlike colonies of other staphylococcus species, so yield higher detection rate with better sensitivity than conventional media.
