The objective of this work was to study and correlate the role of infection in idiopathic epistaxis in children, to study the role of culture and antibiotic sensitivity in management of idiopathic epistaxis in children, to study and compare the effect of systemic antibiotic versus local antibiotic in management of idiopathic epistaxis in children . In this work, patients were divided into: . Control group(A). 2. Study groups: Group (B): Group of patients suffering from epistaxis without crusts in their nasal mucosa. Group (C): Group of patients suffering from epistaxis with crusts in their nasal mucosa. All patients were subjected to the following: - Complete history taking. 2- General examination. 3- ENT examination to evaluate epistaxis: with special interest on site and amount of bleeding and exclusion of sinusitis, rhinosinusitis, neoplasms & granulomas. 4- Endoscopic examination, laboratory and radiological investigations were done to exclude sinusitis, rhinosinusitis, neoplasms & granulomas. 5- Swabs were taken from the surface of mucosa of anterior nasal cavity at side and site of epistaxis under aseptic conditions.
