This research aims at studying the mural sculpture in the ancient Egyptian art and Mesopotamia countries and comparing them together. Art in ancient countries committed to the context imposed by the beliefs and habits. For ancient Egyptians, resurrection and immortality were the motive to keep all what is left preserved. However, people of Mesopotamia countries were preoccupied with the idea of immortality on land. This obvious difference in the religious thought had a significant effect on the artistic form. While Egyptian kings were made sacred as they were considered the sons of the great God, this was not the case in the Asian region and Mesopotamia countries where most of their kings were messengers worshiping the greatest God. This had the greatest effect in combining the mural sculpture and architecture in both the ancient Egyptian civilization and the civilization of Mesopotamia countries. Therefore, the topic of this research was entitled ”The Mural Sculpture Art in the Ancient Egyptian Art and Mesopotamia Countries”. It includes four parts. The first and second parts include three chapters for each whereas the third and fourth chapters include four elements. The fourth part includes samples of the researcher’s works. |
