Abstract The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of using a process oriented program on first year secondary school students acquisition and use of the writing sl<ills . One hund.·ed forty four students at Kolosna Co- Education secondary school , Samalout city, in Minia were divided into a control group and an experimental group . While the students of the experime •• tal group were trained and instructed in process - oriented program in the wri~ing skills, the stQdents of the control group were taught according to the conventional method described in the textbook. Tools of the study included a process oriented training program in writing, a diagnostic skills test, a test in the acquisition of the writing skills, a test in the use of the writing skills and the mental abilities test. ,Results revealed that the experimental group surpassed the control group on the posUests of the acquisition and use of the writing skills.t Recommendations and suggestions for further studie were presented in the light of the study results. |
