Abstract This study is a trial to evaluate the role of corticosteroids in burn shock . The results of this study showed lesser mortality rate with cases receiving corticosteroids. Follow up of heart rate showed that it was faster in nearly all patients not receiving corticosteroid. Also measuring temperature showed that it was higher in nearly all patients not receiving corticosteroids, yet temperature changes were statistically significant starting from the second day postburn. Finally the results of this study showed that it is favourable to use parenteral corticosteroid in sufficient doses in all patients suffering from burn shok. |
