Abstract The excitation functions of neutron threshold reactions around 14 MeV are very useful in nuclear physics studies, for example, they are used for testing nuclear model calculations. In the present work, the excitation functions of 24Mg (n,p) 24Na, 56Fe (n,p) 56Mn, 58Ni (n,2n) 57Ni, 65Cu (n,a) 62n,-«Co, ^^Zn (n,p) 64,<i6,68mCu, 643Zn (n,2n) 63’69mZn, 68Zn(n,a) 65Ni, 80-82Se (n,2n)79m-81niSe, 113In (n,2n)u2mIn and 115In (n,n) I15mIn reactions have been measured over the neutron energies ranging from 14.1 to 14.6 MeV. The irradiations were performed using neutron generator of model A-1254 installed in the Physics Department, Nuclear Research Center (NRC), Atomic Energy Authority (AEA) using 3H(d,n) 4He reaction. The present study was performed using the activation method where the activated products were identified by their characteristic y-ray lines and half lives. In this study, high resolution y-ray spectrometer was used. For each reaction, the measured data were compared with those found in the literatures as well as with some evaluated nuclear data files Systematic trends for the (n,2n) and (n,p) reactions, in the available neutron energy range have been investigated. |
