Abstract

Theory of knowledge has along and rich history [10, 11, 12, 13, 27, 32]. We propose here a formal definition of the term “knowledge” and we show some of its basic properties. We don’t aim to give a full account of the concept of “knowledge” and we realize that the proposed understandings of knowledge might seem to be insufficiently general to cover various understandings of this concept in current literature. We advocate here a rough set concept as a theoretical framework for discussions about knowledge, particularly when imprecise knowledge is of primary concern [30]. The rough set theory takes intoconsideration the indisernibility between objects. The indisenibility is typically characterized by an equivalence relation. Rough sets are the results of approximating crisp sets using equivalence classes. The purpose of this chapter is to generalize the knowledge and rough set. In second section we give a definition of knowledge and classification. For the third section we give a definition of the knowledge base. Equivalence generalization and specialization knowledge can be viewed in the fourth section. But the definition of the rough sets, and approximation of set, properties of approximations, approximations and membership relation, numerical characterization of imprecision, types of rough sets, rough equality of sets and rough inclusion of sets can be viewed in the fifth section. In sixth section we give a definition of reduct and core of knowledge. The last section we give the definition dependency of knowledge.
