Abstract Fluoride is a naturally occurring element, fluoride compounds are constituents of minerals in rocks, soils, air, natural waters and foods. In the other way aluminum the most abundant metal in the Earth’s crust, is present in a variety of foodstuffs and medications (e.g. vaccines and antiacids) as well as in domestic water supplies. Aluminum compounds form less soluble complexes with fluoride and decrease the absorbability of fluoride or neutralize the hydrogen fluoride produced in the stomach. The present work was performed to study the effect of sodium fluoride and aluminum sulphate on clinical signs, growth performance, hematological and biochemical changes and correlate them with pathological changes in balady chickens. In addition to the evaluation of aluminum sulphate as a treatment of sodium fluoride toxicity. This study was carried out on one hundred and fifty (one day old) balady chickens. Chickens were divided into six equal groups (each group of 25 chickens); first one fed on normal ration (control group); second one fed on ration contains 800 ppm of sodium fluoride; third one fed on ration contains 1600 ppm of sodium fluoride; fourth one fed on ration contains 640 ppm aluminum sulphate; fifth one fed on ration contains 800 ppm(sodium fluoride)+ 640 ppm (aluminum sulphate) as (1st treated group) and sixth one fed on ration contains 1600 ppm (sodium fluoride)+ 1280 ppm (aluminum sulphate) as (2nd treated group) from one day old to the end of experiment (seven weeks). |
