Abstract Previous works on the zooplankton in the egyptian mediterranean waters were mostly devoted to the study of copepod. the major zooplankton component other group such as medusae siphonophores pelagic tunicates decapods and pelagic amphipods were considered of secondary importance in terms of numerical abundance and hence were not treated in detail consequently the aim of present work is to study the ecology and distribution of the major zooplankton groups other than copepods occurring in the mediterranean shelf waters off the egyptian coast. |
