Abstract
Essential fatty acids form part of cell membrane phospholipids. They are precursors of prostaglandins and leukotrienes which act as cell mediators that can affect various cellular functions. In this work , the effects of essential fatty acid deficiency (EFAD) on rat submandibular salivary glands and gastric mucosa were studied.
