Abstract in the current study, toxicological, biochemical and molecular investigations were carried out to analyze and understand the mechanism(s) of pyrethroid resistance in the american bollworm, helicoverpa armigera. toxicological experme nts were conducted to study the suseptibility of three different strains of the test insect to deltamethrin, a-cypermethrin and b-cyfluthrin. the synergistic activity of both piperonyl butoxide (pbo) and dihydrodillapiole (DDA) was also studie. the esterase profiles of the two resistant strains (nagpur strain and delhistrain )were compared with that of the susceptible strain (cicr- nagpur) using native PAGE electrophoresis techniques. |
