Abstract Environmental pollution is one of the most deleterious agents to the biological life. Lead is considered one of the most important pollutants in our environment, therefore the present study aimed to evaluate lead levels in both macro-and micro environment of cattle in Assiut Governorate. The study was carried out on fifty cattle. Lead levels were estimated in different cattle tissues (blood, lung, kidney, liver, brain, muscles, heart and ribs) and urine in addition to different water sources (River Nile, tap water, ground water, El-Ebrahimia canal and the small canal beside the main road) and feedstuffs (beans, grass, barseem, wheat and tibn). Other related elements to lead (iron, copper, calcium, phosphorus, sodium and potassium) were estimated in both animal tissues, urine and plants. |
