Abstract
Physical and Chemical parameters of lake and drains water: temperatures, transparency,electrical conductivity,
salinity, pH,dissolved oxygen, chemical and biochemical oxygen demand, carbonate, bicarbonate, chlorosity, sulphate, total sulphide, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium,
nutrient salts (nitrite, nitrate & ammonia, phosphorus forms and silicate) and heavy metals (Iron, Copper,Zinc, lead and cadmium). The present study showed that,the concentrations of nutrients salts have higher values than that recorded previously. Also, salinity values decrease than that recorded previously.
For Heavy Metals (Iron, Copper, Zinc, Lead and Cadmium) in lake and drains water The present study showed
that the concentrations in drains water exceeds the concentrations in lake water and the permissible levels stated
by WHO especially for iron and zinc. For Heavy Metals (Iron, Copper, Zinc, Lead, and Cadmium) in Muscles of Tilapia
zillii, the present study showed that the concentrations are in the safe limit stated by WHO.
